My name is Carla and I’ll be your health and fitness coach. During this process, we’ll work together to help you regain control of your behaviours and make lasting changes. And since we’ll be working closely, you might as well get to know a little bit about me.
I wasn’t always a “fit person.” You know, the kind naturally inclined to sports. In fact, until my late 20s I was a sedentary overworked dentist with poor posture and dubious eating habits.
It was only when I hit 30s that exercise became part of my life. And in the beginning, it was hard and scary. I was very self-conscious about going to the gym. I felt like I didn’t belong there.
But I was lucky enough to find a great coach who helped me build some basic skills which in turn, encouraged me to carry on. As I got fitter, I became more comfortable in the gym environment. And that
was the boost of confidence that I needed.
Eventually, I became so excited about the changes I was seeing that I wanted to share that feeling with others. So, I became a trainer.
Now, just to be clear. Change doesn’t happen with the snap of fingers. It’s the gradual process of becoming someone new. Of adopting new behaviours while letting go of old patterns.
This process is also not linear. It has lots of ups and downs. You will have moments of progress, but you’ll also face periods of feeling stuck.
And my job as your coach is to help you keep going, just like once someone did for me. Because I can say for sure that it is worth it.
