What to expect from a first consultation:
Health screening – Before starting an exercise program we must determine your current health status. The goal is to consider any chronic conditions, health issues or injuries that may be affected by exercise. This is not to rule out exercise, but to help us work safely around any limitation you may present.
Fitness and lifestyle assessment – Next step is to take a closer look at your lifestyle and daily habits. This way I can guide you towards your goals and address your unique needs. At this point, we will talk about your daily activities, exercise experience, sleep patterns and stress level. what is important for you and how much time you can commit to training.
Fitness assessments – These are not fitness tests; they are just benchmark assessments (where you are at the moment in terms of fitness). Several tools/techniques (body composition, skinfold, body girths) may be used depending on your fitness goals and what you are comfortable with. We will reassess every four weeks in order to track your progress and make necessary adjustments in your routine so you get the best results ASAP.
Dietary assessment – Your eating habits may help or hinder your progress no matter what your goals are. I believe that diet is so important that I include food coaching in most of my training packages. However, before I can make any recommendation I need to understand your current eating patterns, your nutritional knowledge, your readiness to make changes and your social support.
Goal setting – Before I can design a plan of action, we must defined your goals. They must be specific, realistic, measurable, and time-bound, otherwise they are not goals – they are just wishes. This is your fitness GPS. You tell me what you want to achieve and I’ll help you figure out the better path to get there.
